HOUBY SERUM The foundation layer. Daily.
The Serum is built around two things the skin barrier actually needs: fermentation actives and a complete ceramide complex.
The dual-ferment system — Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate and Bacillus Ferment — delivers the bioactive output of fermentation directly to the skin: smaller molecules, better absorption, more efficient delivery than raw extracts alone. These work alongside Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi) and Tremella Fuciformis, both present for their polysaccharide content and their longstanding role in functional skincare.
Then the barrier complex: Ceramide NP, Cholesterol, and Phytosphingosine work together in the same ratio the skin's lipid layer naturally uses. Beta-Glucan (derived from oat) supports that layer further. Sodium Hyaluronate and Glycerin handle hydration at multiple depths. Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, Panthenol, and Allantoin round it out — ingredients with well-documented roles in skin support.
No fillers earning screen time. Every ingredient in this formula has a reason to be here.
What it's for: Daily barrier support. Use it when your skin is stressed, depleted, or just needs a consistent foundation. Morning, night, or both.
HOUBY CREAM The repair layer. When skin needs more than maintenance.
The Cream does what the Serum starts. Where the Serum delivers actives efficiently, the Cream creates the environment for them to work — a richer, occlusive base of Squalane, Shea Butter, and Glycerin that supports the skin's own recovery process overnight or through the day.
The exclusive differentiator within the trilogy: a triple ceramide complex — Ceramide NP, AP, and EOP — the full spectrum the skin barrier relies on. No other product in this line has all three. Ectoin, a stress-protectant used in extreme-environment biology, helps the skin manage environmental pressure. Madecassoside (the purified active from Centella Asiatica) supports tissue repair at the ingredient level. Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate continues the fermentation thread from the Serum. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Adenosine provide antioxidant and skin-support roles.
The Cream is the most nutritive product in the trilogy. It's designed for skin that needs rebuilding — not just maintaining.
What it's for: Barrier rebuilding and overnight recovery. The step you don't skip when your skin is reactive, depleted, or in the middle of a bad run of weather/stress/sleep.
HOUBY SHEET MASK The intensive layer. Not every day — but when you need it.
The Mask is the most mushroom-forward product in the trilogy. Tremella Fuciformis Extract is the first listed ingredient — meaning it makes up the largest proportion by weight. Tremella polysaccharides are well-studied for their water-retention capacity and their molecular size, which allows them to function at the skin surface and just below it. Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi) follows, alongside Dendrobium Officinale Stem Extract — a hydration-focused botanical with a history in traditional use and more recent formulation work.
Bacillus Ferment delivers fermentation actives in a single-ferment system. Wheat Germ Extract (Triticum Vulgare) provides fatty acids and tocopherols. Tuber Magnatum Extract — from white truffle — contributes polysaccharides and amino acids to the hydration profile. Oligopeptide-1 is present; its efficacy in this format is formulation-dependent, so we don't lead with it, but it's there.
Glycerin anchors the hydration. The overall formula is simpler than the Serum or Cream — intentionally so. Sheet masks are designed for saturation, not complexity. This one does exactly that.
What it's for: An intensive hydration session. Use it when skin feels tight, dull, or depleted — before an event, mid-week reset, or after travel. Not a daily product. A purposeful one.
A note on how they work together:
The Serum and Cream share a formulation thread — dual ferments, ceramides, Beta-Glucan, Centella, Niacinamide — which means layering them is additive, not redundant. The Mask sits outside the daily routine as a separate use case. Three products, three distinct purposes, one coherent system.
